As aptly pointed out last week by The Onion, last week sucked. A lot. Thankfully, little by little, this week has been getting better. It's about time to get back into the swing of things, and luckily for us there are a lot of things to swing this weekend. Join me #OnTheTown as we head back out into the city we love.

On the Town: Re-discovering Boston

Hey there friends, Kyle Thomas here! Remember ages ago when I promised that 2013 would be the year of special guest columnists for #OnTheTown? Well look at me, making good on that promise! Please allow me to introduce our first #OnTheTown special guest, Rachel Cossar. Rachel is our newest Opus Affair cohost and—quite possibly—the world's only food blogging ballet dancer (Yes, I know, it's not fair. At all.). Don't worry, uncomfortably Photoshopped images of me wrapping my legs around things will be back next week; but until then, give Rachel a big warm welcome to the Opus Affair blog!

On the Town: Can you hear me now?

Hold the phones—literally! This week, we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the cellular telephone! The ubiquitous little instrument that we severely take for granted and protect as if it were a newborn has certainly been through many metamorphoses over the past four decades. From the comical, bulky first generation of phones to today's Internet-enabled, voice-activated devices from science fiction; the cell phone has stood the test of time and made itself ubiquitous and indispensable in our lives.

Tweet me (from your phone) at @khemingway or leave a comment below on where you and your cell phone will be this weekend!
