Like any card-carrying gay man, I've been obsessed with divas since I can remember (and I'm not talking about the one that yells at me every morning in the mirror while I get ready for work). It doesn't matter which diva, they're all just perfect. This weekend, there are divas in the air here in Boston, and I humbly dedicate this week's #OnTheTown to them.
Before Toddlers and Tiaras, before Mama Rose, the world's original stage parent existed. I am, of course, referring to Leopold Mozart, father to some obscure Classical composer you probably haven't heard of. Not exactly father of the year, Leo carted his son and daughter all over Europe for them to play concerts and likely making them practice their instruments for hours each day (not to mention their swimsuit routines). He is, however, Wolfgang's father, and for that we should be thankful. Today happens to be Leo's birthday, and what better way to celebrate it than with some #BostonArts out #OnTheTown?!
This week, an historical event occurred. No, not the Boston mayoral election (although that was pretty epic). Opus Affair has been named a finalist once again in BostInno's #50onFireBOS awards. Kind of like a Thanksgivukkah menorah, our flame just won't go out! To celebrate the seemingly eternal flame of Opus Affair, why don't you head out #OnTheTown this weekend for some #BostonArts offerings that exemplify building blocks of Opus Affair!
