I wish to go to the festival! Opus Affair is obviously a trendsetter. We throw a big arts party and all of a sudden, the rest of the city does! Boston is all atwitter with arts festivals of every shape and size, two of which kick off this weekend. Let's dive right into them, shall we?

OUTSIDE THE BOX FESTIVAL

The brainchild of Boston arts superhero Ted Cutler, the inaugural Outside the Box festival kicks off all over the Boston Common this upcoming week with over 200 arts events. Outside the Box has something for everyone: music, theatre, dance, spectacle art, and food! Did I mention all of these events are entirely free?

Outside the Box Festival: Boston Common; outsidetheboxboston.org. Through July 21. @outsidethebox13

THE COMPLETE ALFRED HITCHCOCK

Practically everything Hitchcock ever made over a 2-month span? YES PLEASE. Including nine recently restored silent films with live musical accompaniment, everyone's favorites are here: Psycho, Rebecca, Vertigo, and so much more! Also, air conditioning.

The Complete Alfred Hitchcock: At the Harvard Film Archive, 24 Quincy Street, Cambridge; hcl.harvard.edu/hfa. Through Sept. 28.
